Thanksgiving Weekend & Black Friday Shopping

We spent Thanksgiving at Chris' mom's and stepdad's outside of Benson.  It's amazing going to their place because they decorate the entire farm for Christmas.  If I would have been thinking clearly we would have brought the camera and took pictures.  We'll have to stop there before Christmas sometime when it's dark to check it all out.  Pretty cool.  The food was great...we stuffed ourselves silly and still have a fridgeful of leftovers to show for it.

Friday morning I got my butt out of bed at 3:15 to go Black Friday shopping with my friend Heather.  I honestly didn't need anything but went along because it's tradition.  People might call us crazy, but it's a nice way to spend time with a friend and make some memories.  Target opened at 4 a.m. so we started there.  They had it set up nice there and we were in and out in no time.  I think we were at Wal-Mart by 4:30, and there I found the line to wait in for the 19-inch flat screen TV we wanted for the back bedroom. Heather waited in line for the Nintendo DS for her daughter and we texted back and forth...I waited in the TV line for about 20 minutes, got the TV, then waited in the checkout line for about 45 minutes.  Wal-Mart ticks me off everytime I go there, but I did what I had to do.  From there we went to the mall and I went to Herberger's Home Store....I really did not get any Christmas shopping done, but that's okay.  I did buy Chris a fish house at Running's, so I felt good about that.

Saturday we met Chris' brother Eric, his girlfriend Katie, and the rest of the family at Pizza Ranch for lunch.  Eric has been volunteering for AmeriCorps in the southern U.S. and was home for the weekend.  It was good to see him again.  He's gotten so tan and skinny!  He'll be back for Christmas and should finish up his gig down south at the end of May.
