I am now 9 weeks pregnant! I had an ultrasound on Monday the 13th thinking I was about 8 weeks pregnant....turns out I was a week off. I am now due August 2 instead of July 26. The ultrasound was so cool....right now baby looks like a little chicken but we saw the little heartbeat and it was amazing!
I have been feeling alright....I would never say good, but I definitely know I could have it MUCH worse. I have yet to throw up. I have run to the bathroom a few times because I was sure I was going to, but no such luck. I'm not sure what's worse....constantly wanting to throw up or actually doing it. I go to sleep at about 8:00 every night and wake up twice during the night to go to the bathroom and get a drink or have a snack.
The last week or so I have had some pretty nasty headaches. I try to go as long as I can without taking tylenol but I usually do end up taking a couple.
Also new this week are the crazy pregnancy dreams! WOW! I won't go into detail but let's just say I can't wait to go to sleep at night =)
My first OB appointment is on Tuesday, Jan 4. I'm excited to see what happens. Hopefully we'll be able to hear the heartbeat at this appointment.
Chris has been WONDERFUL. The only thing I would like him to do is start reading the book I bought for him but he has yet to open it. He does drive me a little crazy when he tells me my symptoms are all in my head, but deep down I know that he knows better and maybe even likes spoiling me a bit =)

Christmas 2010
We had a busy but great first Christmas as a married couple! I hosted my mom & brothers on Saturday the 18th....well actually mom did most of the work! My stomach just wasn't up to it. It was a nice weekend weather wise (no snow!) and it was nice to have everyone over. My nephews spent the night at our house and we had fun playing with all their new toys.
On Wednesday the 22nd we headed to Chris' mom's in Benson to celebrate Christmas with her and Roger. We told her she was gonna be a Grandma in August and she was pretty excited!
Christmas Eve Chris worked all day so I was home alone. This was completely fine with me because I was not feeling well at all and pretty much held down the couch all day. Christmas Day we went to church and hung out just Chris and I. It was nice to have one of the days to ourselves...can't believe next year we'll have a little one to spend Christmas with!
On Sunday the 26th Chris had to work so I headed to my dad's in Clara City for Christmas dinner with him, my brothers and nephews. Once again we lucked out on the weather and had a nice day.
I have pictures to post....will do that once I find the camera....stupid pregnancy brain!

Thanksgiving Weekend & Black Friday Shopping
We spent Thanksgiving at Chris' mom's and stepdad's outside of Benson. It's amazing going to their place because they decorate the entire farm for Christmas. If I would have been thinking clearly we would have brought the camera and took pictures. We'll have to stop there before Christmas sometime when it's dark to check it all out. Pretty cool. The food was great...we stuffed ourselves silly and still have a fridgeful of leftovers to show for it.
Friday morning I got my butt out of bed at 3:15 to go Black Friday shopping with my friend Heather. I honestly didn't need anything but went along because it's tradition. People might call us crazy, but it's a nice way to spend time with a friend and make some memories. Target opened at 4 a.m. so we started there. They had it set up nice there and we were in and out in no time. I think we were at Wal-Mart by 4:30, and there I found the line to wait in for the 19-inch flat screen TV we wanted for the back bedroom. Heather waited in line for the Nintendo DS for her daughter and we texted back and forth...I waited in the TV line for about 20 minutes, got the TV, then waited in the checkout line for about 45 minutes. Wal-Mart ticks me off everytime I go there, but I did what I had to do. From there we went to the mall and I went to Herberger's Home Store....I really did not get any Christmas shopping done, but that's okay. I did buy Chris a fish house at Running's, so I felt good about that.
Saturday we met Chris' brother Eric, his girlfriend Katie, and the rest of the family at Pizza Ranch for lunch. Eric has been volunteering for AmeriCorps in the southern U.S. and was home for the weekend. It was good to see him again. He's gotten so tan and skinny! He'll be back for Christmas and should finish up his gig down south at the end of May.

So....we're PREGNANT!!!
Last Sunday Chris & I found out WE'RE GONNA HAVE A BABY!!! We are so stinkin' excited....but nervous and scared all at the same time! I decided to take one of those cheap dollar store pregnancy tests (not really sure why, wasn't really having any symptoms). I let Chris go read it and he said there was for sure one line and he could see a very faint second line. Of course we thought our eyes were playing tricks on us. According to all the websites a second line, no matter how faint, is a positive result. I didn't believe it and sent Chris to Wal-Mart for one of the tests that simply said "pregnant" or "not pregnant". Took the test, let Chris read it, and sure enough....pregnant! We kinda just stood in the bathroom and didn't know what to do. Can we say "a little in shock"?
I went to the doctor on Wednesday to have everything confirmed and am due July 26. Yep, I will be 9 months preggo during the hottest month of the summer. Great. You take what you get I guess =)
So far I have been feeling pretty good. No morning sickness, just tired and backaches. They say morning sickness starts around 6 weeks....let's keep our fingers crossed that I'm not a total puker. That. would. suck. Although, I wouldn't mind some symptoms just to reassure me that this is really happening =)

Carpal Tunnel
For about the last month now, I've had lots of pain in both wrists and arms. At first I thought it was the way I was sleeping at night, but last Thursday my hands started falling asleep as I was typing at work. This is not good, considering I spend the majority of my work day typing. I went to the doctor on Friday and he diagnosed me as having carpal tunnel. Not cool. I am only 32.....this can't be good! He told me it is reversible. I bought braces for both arms and have to wear them at night. Attractive, I know. I am also supposed to ice it and take ibuprofen. If that doesn't take care of it, I can do steroid injections and as a last resort, surgery. I DO NOT want surgery. For one, I'd have to take alot of time off of work, and for two, I've heard the recovery is horrible....you can't even wipe your own butt! How awful! The braces really take some getting used to. Last night I took them off in my sleep and had no idea until I woke up the next morning!
Chris broke is foot (almost)
The other day Chris called me at work saying he was on the way to the doctor and that he thought he broke his foot at work. I didn't think much of it, because he is a little dramatic when it comes to medical things where as I tend to let things go until the last minute and then finally haul my butt to the doctor. Turns out, he didn't officially "break" his foot, but it is cracked and he'll be in a walking cast for two months.
The story of his injury is rather funny. He works at a pig farm on the days he's off from the Sheriff's Office. There was a pig with a "vaginal prolapse" (I giggle just saying it) so they had to shoot it in order to save her babies. One of his coworkers got the gun and Chris wanted to get out of the way, but in the meantime either tripped of stepped on something, cracking his foot. Then his coworker killed the pig and Chris said all he remembers is seeing lots of blood, starting to sweat, and everything turning black. Makes me wonder what Chris will be like in the delivery room when we have kids....didn't think he'd be such a wuss =)

Garage Sales are ALOT of work
A couple friends and I had a garage sale at our place on Saturday. I have the perfect location to have one so we were constantly busy....at times it was nuts. I only made about $120.00, but it's $120.00 more than what I started with and it's a nice start to the "new couch" fund. Not sure I'll ever do another garage sale....so much easier to just haul it to Goodwill!

Things I Love About Being Married....
It's hard to believe it's already October and Chris & I are approaching six months since our wedding...wow how time flies! Thought I'd make a list of the things I love about being married:
~Even though I can take care of myself, he's always got my back
~Lazy mornings together
~I can take money out of his wallet and I don't have to pay him back! (And vice versa, of course)
~He works hard and provides for me, which is comforting after YEARS of being completely independent =)
~When we have a crazy fight that turns into a screaming match (usually on my part, I admit) I don't have to worry if we're going to "break up"
~We complement each other. I have strengths that benefit him (like being a planner) and he has strengths that benefit me (like being completely random and fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants) We balance each other out.
~He makes me feel safe.
~Always having someone to do things with
~Hearing his car pull up in the driveway after work
~Grocery shopping for two (because shopping for one is HARD!)
~No more DATING!! WOO HOO!!
The list could go on and on, but I think you get the picture =)

Chris got a JOB!!
Chris was offered a part-time job with the Swift County Sheriff's Office in Benson. His first day will be on September 20th. He will be a dispatcher / jailer. Although this won't activate his police officer license, it is a step in the right direction. But....one step closer to him being a cop only means one thing....one step closer to me being a cop's wife! YIKES!!! Scares the crap out of me every time I think of it.
Go get 'em baby....I know you'll do great!

So I'm starting blog.....
I've decided to start a blog! What the H am I thinking? My cousin and a few other people I know have blogs and I really feel it helps me know them better, especially if visits are few and far between.
So here goes: my completely random, sometimes boring, hopefully sometimes funny and exciting, attempt at blogging!
