Happy Anniversary!

On April 24th we celebrated our first anniversary!  I suppose I should talk about how much we celebrated and how romantic it was; but to be honest we didn't do a darn thing!  It was Easter so we celebrated Easter in Grove City with Chris' family.  We didn't even get each other a present.  The traditional gift for the first anniversary is paper.  We did get each other a card....so that counts right?  I have to admit I got a little mad at Chris because he didn't get me a "mushy" card.  (Soooo not his thing but still).  But now I laugh at it because his message was so true to how I had been acting (pregnant and MOODY).  Here's a picture....it says "Happy Anniversary and hopefully 50 more.  Love forever now matter how CRAPPY you get"  He meant to say CRABBY.  Typical Chris! 

 

30 weeks down....10 more to go!

Wow....it has been waaay too long since I've updated this thing!  So sorry!  Today I am 30 weeks preggers!  Only 10 more to go.  I have been feeling good; however am starting to get the swollen feet, sore hips, and all that fun stuff!  I also have been having killer heartburn.  It's so bad that I throw up in my mouth a little every day.  Talk about gross.  Zantac has been my best friend lately =)  According to Babycenter.com, baby is about 15.7 inches long and almost 3 lbs (like a head of cabbage...I LOVE the fruit & vegetable comparisons!)

I haven't done a dang thing aroud the house to prepare for this baby yet...I have four different paint colors on the wall.  I am really not a fan of greens or yellows anymore so we are doing a neutral (boring I know) wall color. I have both boy and girl bedding so after baby comes I'll decorate more gender specific =) 

I have been garage saling a lot and have a TON of baby clothes for both a boy or girl...I think I am set until at least winter.  Still need to go out and buy a coming home outfit...that will be fun!  I bought a bassinet from a co-worker.  I was debating on getting one...baby's room is literally across the hall from our bedroom so it's not like I'd have to go far if we didn't have a bassinet.  I think I finally caved and got one out of pure laziness on my part....plus I'm afraid I'll never be able to sleep if I don't have my baby at arm's reach =) 

I think our dog Paisley is sensing that there is a change coming.  She is VERY protective of me.  Chris can't even hug me without her going nuts.  She sleeps in between us every night and if Chris is gone working she literally sleeps so close to me that I can't even roll over.   Boy she is in for a rude awakening very shortly!

I have lots more to write about.....we've had an anniversary, Easter, and Chris is starting a new job soon.  So, I will update more later!

Baby Dreams

I know I mentioned before that I was having weird dreams, but now I'm actually having pregnancy / baby dreams.  Just this past week, I've had two dreams that we were in the ultrasound room having our gender scan and the baby was a girl.  Then, last night I dreamed that my blood pressure was high and I had to go on bed rest.  I honestly still think the baby is a boy and I am still drawn to boy bedding, boy clothes and boy everything.  Just a few more months and we will see! 

Doctor Appointment

I had a check-up on Thursday.  Everything is continuing to look good.  Baby's heartbeat is still 150-160.  My blood pressure was a little higher than it normally is for me (it was 130/60) but is still within normal ranges. Pregnant women normally have low blood pressure because their circulatory system expands rapidly during pregnancy (yes I googled that!).   My weight is within normal even though I did have a jump this past month (but I also grew quite a belly in the last few weeks).  My doctor said women gain the most weight with their first pregnancy, I suppose because they don't have a little one to chase around and can be lazy,  and said normal is between 30-50 lbs.  I've been reading everywhere that normal is 20-35 and if you gain more than that you are frowned upon (maybe I'm being dramatic but that is the impression I got).  Needless to say, I LOVE my doctor....now, hand over the ice cream =)

Getting Stupider Everyday.....

Ugh this pregnancy brain is getting the best of me!  Thursday at work one of the guys came into my cubical and asked me to do something for them (revise a report, nothing too difficult and something I do quite often).  So he explained what he wanted, I said sure I'll do that and he left.  Then, I just sat there.  I had no idea what he just said to me.  I had to call him and ask him to repeat himself.  Good thing he has a sense of humor and two kids himself =)

Then Friday I was leaving for work.  I left out the side garage door instead of going outside and locked the door behind me.   I swear I grabbed my keys from the top of the microwave.  I went to unlock the van and sure enough, no keys.  I looked down at my hands and had my phone and tweezers.  Really - tweezers?   I'm guessing the tweezers were next to my keys on top of the microwave but I honestly don't remember grabbing them.  Of course Chris was not home and luckily I had my phone so I called work and had to have someone come get me.
